Apex Kings NFT Racing is a Web3 car racing game where players collect and race cars against each other in event based competitions. The game is built to leverage WAX blockchain technology to bring true digital ownership to players, as well as provide the means to earn items that actually matter.
How to Play
Apex Kings will be first accessible through your browser via apexkings.io and later in 2023 with mobile devices through the Apple App Store and Google Play app store.
The game can be accessed without a crypto wallet and within the game you can be guided to create one, in order to get the most out of the game experience.
To enjoy Apex Kings, you need cars. Cars will be made available throughout our road to launch and before launch with our first pack drops.
Apex Kings features a centralized token called *Voima*, which will be made available in limited supply. Token supply will scale with the growth of the community and the game.
Apex Kings offers free and sanctioned PvP races, latter being the race to earn aspect of the game. In order to participate in play-to-earn races, you need to pay a token entry fee.
Gameplay
In Apex Kings players can participate in either *free* or *sanctioned* races. These races are governed by restrictions according to which cars can enter a given race. For a player to enter a race they need to own a car that fulfills the requirements set by the race restrictions.
Sample restriction could be:
- British cars only
- Rear wheel driven British cars only
- Rear wheel driven British cars manufactured between 1980-1989 only.
… and many other possibilities.
All race restrictions are derived from car parameters detailed in the next chapter.
For player to enter a *sanctioned* race they need to pay an entry fee with Voima tokens. Player needs to possess the required amount of tokens at the time of entry to the race.
NFT Cars
Each car is a unique NFT, that holds specific data sets from the car as well as tracking the cars history.
Car models are ranked according to their rarity, which is based on given vehicles actual production figures. In other words cars that are rare in real life are equally rare in Apex Kings.
Rarity | Production run |
Common | 50,000 or more |
Uncommon | < 50,000 |
Rare | < 15,000 |
Epic | < 5,000 |
Legendary | < 1,000 |
Unique | 1 |

Car records
Cars in Apex Kings will have their historical data tracked over time, this way when a car exchanges hands in its record follows with it.
The game will track given vehicles’ race participation record and win record.
Drivers
Players have the possibility of acquiring different drivers for their cars, these drivers and their skills have a big impact on the outcome for the races.
Each player is given their first driver for free and more drivers can be acquired via an in-game purchase.
Driver characteristics
Drivers have six main characteristics that impact their behavior
Launching | 0-99 | Drivers performance at the start of a race |
Speed | 0-99 | Drivers overall pace performance |
Cornering | 0-99 | Drivers ability to approach corners |
Braking | 0-99 | Drivers ability to brake at the right time |
Overtaking | 0-99 | Drivers ability to out maneuver opposing vehicles |
Defending | 0-99 | Drivers ability to prevent overtaking attempts |
These skills are measured via skill point system and can be improved by training the driver. However each driver has inherent maximum capacity for each skill characteristic beyond which it can no longer be improved.
It’s up to you to find the right drivers for your lineup.
Racing
To enter a race, a player needs to have a *race ticket* and a suitable car. Tickets are granted daily or can be purchased in the game. There are multiple ways for acquiring cars.
Races consist of two phases 1. Qualifying and 2. Race proper
Qualifying is conducted as a simulation for determining players’ starting grid positions.
Qualifying is then followed by the race using a standing start with a set amount of laps in real time.
Races will reward winning players various in-game currencies depending whether you’ve raced in a free race or a sanctioned race.
Managing the race
During the race you can give instructions to the driver via the driver commands interface.
Choices can be made in the range of what kind of pace the driver should try to keep. You can command your driver either to take it easy or start pushing or something in between.
The important thing is to manage your drivers energy reserve, the lower it goes the more prone your driver comes to making mistakes and the last thing you want is to completely run out of energy.
Core loop
Social
Players will be able to form *Car Clubs* that consist of unique identification methods, chat rooms and expanded gameplay opportunities. Clubs can be for specific car makes, models or countries of origin – to facilitate discussion and enable engaging with other like minded car enthusiasts, ultimately enabling club vs. club style racing.
WAX and Marketplace
Apex Kings NFT Racing will use WAX Protocol which is a DPoS (Delegated Proof of Stake) blockchain designed to scale in conjunction with a microservice layer that provides specialized infrastructure for building digital goods marketplaces.
One of the main benefits of using the Wax blockchain in Apex Kings NFT Racing is its high speed and low transaction fees. The Wax blockchain is designed to be fast and efficient, with the ability to handle thousands of transactions per second. This means that players can buy, sell, and trade NFT cars quickly and easily, without having to wait for long confirmation times or pay high transaction fees.
Another benefit of using the Wax blockchain in Apex Kings NFT Racing is its security and reliability. The Wax blockchain is built on the same technology as the EOS blockchain, which is known for its security and resistance to hacks and attacks. This means that players’ NFT cars and other assets are safe and secure on the Wax blockchain, and can be trusted to maintain their value and ownership.
In addition to these benefits, using the Wax blockchain in Apex Kings NFT Racing also allows players to easily and securely access and manage their NFT cars and other assets. The Wax blockchain provides players with a user-friendly and intuitive interface that makes it easy to view and manage their collections, and to make transactions and trades with other players.
Tokenomics
In addition to being able to own NFT Cars, *Apex Kings* will tie directly to the blockchain gaming ecosystem through the use of the *Voima* utility token, which will support the game’s in-game virtual economy.
Voima is a general purpose tokenized currency that can be used to:
- Purchase car packs
- Purchase cars
- Purchase driver shards
- Purchase race tickets
- Pay for entry fees to *sanctioned races*
- Pay for car rental fees
